The goat legged Greek god is known as Pan, the god of the wild, shepherds and flocks, nature, rustic music and sexuality. He is depicted as having the upper body of a man and the horns, ears and legs of a goat. He is often shown playing his wooden flute, known as a pan flute, and is also associated with the god Dionysus. Pan is believed to have been born in the region of Arcadia in the Peloponnese, and was revered by the ancient Greeks as a powerful and untamed deity. He was often invoked to provide protection for shepherds and their flocks, and was also seen as a fertility god, associated with the renewal and growth of both animals and crops.
